Peter,

Have you investigated using reflectors in future Arc LS designs? A nice aluminum, textured, pre-focused reflector design would be great. It could answer some of the beam quality problems and start to dispel the "LEDs are only for close-up flood lights" stigma.

I know mods using 2AA sized incandescent lights have had moderate success, but a reflector actually optimized for the task might have more success. I don't know how much Carley charges for custom specs on a reflector, but that might be one viable avenue.

I know you experiment with a lot of designs that don't ever make it to production. Do you have any insights about reflectors that you'd be willing to share?

Yes to the first question, not yet to the second.

That's actually a pretty encouraging response.

I think that the SF E2 demonstrates pretty clearly that a small reflector can do a pretty decent job if shaped right for the geometry of the light source.

I look forward to the time when you are ready to say more, hopefully in the form of a product announcement
