It should be...LEDs are a lot stronger and have no filament to break such as in an incandecent bulb.

Re: WTS Surefire Turbohead Seoul TowerModules

I'm concerned about solder breakage etc. (I'm obviously not a MODer  )

Also, would this work in an M6, M4 and M3T? (wondering because of the voltage differances)

And my last stupid question of the day: (on this forum at least) What's the difference in the "Downboy" listed? I mean, what difference does it make to...uh....a dumbo like me? :poke: and....what the heck IS a "Downboy"?

Downboy is a downconverter which is used when pumping more then the safe voltage into an LED. Usually gives you a long runtime. the numbers at the end are how many milliamps its pumping into the LED. I believe that the voltage range for a Downboy was somewhere between 3v and 5v to 12v. So Yes it it is safe to run on an M6, M4, and M3T as long as you aren't running it on Li-ion rechargables.

So it wouldn't be safe to run one of these led modules with 2 x17500 (3.7 volt) Li-Ions in a M3T?

James, you can use 2x17500 with a downboy. Downboy can use up to 12v if they have not been modified. I'm about 97.3% sure anyway.

Refer here for voltage range comparison on DB and others from the Shoppe. According to the diagram, DB's voltage range is 6-9V or 6-12V depending on emitter, so it should be able to handle 2 Li-ion rechargeables easily.

What, if you know, would be the maximum input voltage for the DB 1000 unit?

Re: WTS Surefire Turbohead Seoul TowerModules

They state 16Volts max for input voltage. I have not used any of these with anything more than 12Volts in an M4.
