Is it OK to run a KL4 on an E1e body ?

yes it is I use a rcr123 in the E1E body and KL4 head not sure about run time I just swap batteries everyday

This KL4 is modded with an SSC P4 USWOI - very bright with an RCR123

I tested runtime before, around 17 min with 3.7V R123A.

yes it is ok. Its called a TW4 after one of the old members that use to be on here, Dan from Tactical Warehouse. Black one on the right.

Performance varies with this combination. A few report that a 3 volt CR123 won't power it at all, so it's safer to use rechargeable RCR 123s at 3.7-4.2 volts. The current draw is enough that regulated runtime is modest - I think there are runtime charts around if you look. Output drops from the start a bit, then 15-20 minutes seem to be common until the rechargeable shuts down if protected.

Makes a nice small bright light, but gets very hot and unimpressive runtime. A Cree or Seoul based light nowadays will handily outperform this on all counts. I have both, and I'm thinking about how to upgrade the KL4.

Mine runs on AW's R123a at peak 4.2v it can run about 18-20minutes high, then a further 15-20 on low brightness (Usable) till it flickers. I'ts compact and you can carry spares. Now I'd prefer the 1x17670 format as it has longer runtime and the size (L4) is just nice.

I currently EDC the KL4 Cree & VG-FB1 (bezel down).
Runime is 1hr+, but I'll check later to make sure for you...

If stock KL4 only ran for ~20mins on high, 60mins on the Cree (or SSC)
is WAY impressive, given it also produces around the same output (?).

blitzlicht65, the KL4 ector is quite shallow and it focusses AWESOME
with a Cree, but I'm curious, how does it focus the beam with the SSC ?
