My LSH-P arrived safely the day before yesterday. Upon opening the package, the 1st thing I noticed which pleased me was the Quality Control label that sealed the ziplock bag. It had the handwritten serial number, a date (not sure if it was the build date or the inspection date), the style of light and it was signed-off by 2-people. One of them was Peter himself, however I could not make out the other name. It was nice to see that someone is actually inspecting these things before they ship.
As far as build quality, I have nothing (that's right Peter) to complaint about. It looks good inside and out. Upon firing this sucker up, I was pleased to see a white beam. Over the last year, I've owned over a dozen ARC LS' of various types and at least as many SureFire KL-1's. I have never, ever, seen a LED with such a "white" tint/beam as this LSH-P. I will post beamshots sometime next week. People, I'm a person who tells it like it is, without holding back (Peter can attest to this). I don't kiss-butt and I'll raise havoc when I feel I'm right and have been wronged.
So far, this light is definately meeting my expectations of a $160 light. Sure, I'm still not sure if I care for the clicky tailcap, but I always have an option to put on the twist tailcap. Last night, I was concerned about my original runtime tests with the LSH, however the second test is yielding better results (see my other thread). I plan on performing the same test one more time for my own benefit. I'll share those results in the other thread. The LSH has a huge beam, nice and circular with the trademarked "square-shaped" hotspot. At first, I thought I'd be annoyed by that, however that didn't turn out to be the case.
For now, I'm giving this LSH-P very high marks, however that always subject to change. My next big test will be to test the consistantly between units. This, in my opinion, has always been one of the biggest flaws of the ARC-LS. You could never get two units that looked like or acted like they came from the same company. I will be ordering another LSH-P tonight, as I patiently wait for my already-ordered LSL-P to arrive.
