Just received my 2aa battery tube from Emilion. Here's a picture since there is none on Emilion's website. It is stated as an extension for the MKII but it fits the MKIIx.
Note that it is not a double battery tube but an extension for the existing tube.
The finish is very good, not the exact same color as the light but not a huge difference.
I had to sand it a bit ( less than 1mm) because there was no contact with the interior of the the tube on the light, not a big problem.
It is not as bright as using a 14500 but it is really impressing. It beats my L2D CE.
The main advantages:
- good runtime (wich I did'nt calculate but should be very good)
- lower voltage than with a 14500 so less heat when used on max output
- batteries are easily available when traveling (backpacking)
Another good thing is that since it is an extension instead of a complete 2 cells tube, you don't have to carry a large tube. Very good when backpacking and you need the 2 setups, pocketsize:1aa, need power?:2aa
Sorry, no beamshot, my DC died, only have a scanner.
