Received a call today on a back order for the Proton's! This is Great News. I have been waiting months for my order. I have several of the older/original ones. From what they say there have been improvements made.

Gee, guess hell has frozen over, after all.

Seriously, i would really like for this new version to finally fix . . . .

- Once and for all -

the problems, shortcomings, quirks, bugs, and idiosyncracies of this flashlight.

Really like my Photon Freedom Max lights, and would love a "bigger version".

Hope this is the one !

We'll see.

Guess I got lucky, I have had no problems with mine and see no shortcomings. It could use longer threads, but it is only a minor hassle since the batteries last so long if you mostly use low. I still think it is a fantastic light even compared to the new brighter, multi-mode Cree/SSC lights.
Great size, shape, weight, finish, look, UI, clip, beam.
