Leef McClicky Tailcap and U2

I was thinking about purchasing a Leef tailcap for the U2, as I find the lights I use the most, are the ones I can tailstand. I notice on a previous post, someone mentioned that if they crank the tailcap all the way down, they end up cracking the plastic ring that holds the pocket clip.

Just wondering...does anyone out there have the Leef tailcap + U2 combination. If so, if I don't crank the tailcap all the way down to avoid breaking the plastic ring, will I still maintain a connection so the flashlight still works???
