Cree drop-in for minimag AA?

Did a search, but did not find the answer...Did find a drop-in on the Cree page, but not sure if it's a real high brightness Cree.

I'm looking for a Cree drop-in, or the brightest of any type drop-in for a AA Minimag. I have a Lambda homebuilt luxeon kit which is very bright, but I'm looking to see if there is something brighter out there. Run time is of no concern. Brightness, quality, and dependability are important. Don't want something that is soooo overdriven it will die in a short time.

If the drop-in is somewhat expensive, Is there a different light other than the minimag that has a Cree or other extremely bright emitter that is about the same length/diameter as a minimag? I've seen some of the Fenix lights and Jetbeams, but don't know if a drop-in for the maglite can be had for less than the cost of these lights.

So, the final question is...what is the brightest setup in a minimag sized unit?

That's the quick answer to your question, but yes, there are a LOT of new Cree based alternatives, with more on the way. You'll just have to do some reading here and on the review page to learn more about what is available to suit your particular needs.
