It's all over the news. They say the NRA is supporting a gun control law. The NRA says it's not a gun control bill. The NRA says it will not cause any more people to lose their constitutional rights, and it will allow people who have lost their rights a chance to regain them.

This is not just about crazy people who should not have guns. Thousands of veterans got put on the no guns list by the Clinton administration, because a doctor said they had PTSD when they were being evaluated for disability. Because of that, they are prevented from having guns for life. It does not matter how many years ago it was.

this bill is a direct result of the Virginia Tech tragedy. it's the chance that the Democrats have waited for years to push for more laws.

If NRA goes against this law, next time a lunatic goes on a rampage the NRA will be put in the spotlight again as the culprit. How long can you hold out until you get tired of being called baby killers? I have in a few volunteer events. I was physically threatened by anti-gun activists. It's not pretty, trust me.

You can't win. you oppose an unreasonable law you get bad press. If the unreasonable law you successfully oppose lets one lunatic through the crack, you get worse press.

These kind of bills get amended all the time. There are many laws that have nothing in common between introduction and passage(gut and amend).
