Hello all,

I needed some advice, I'm looking for a small light with a big bang.

Pref. a 1 cell 123a High power led, but I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks!

Get one of the various CREE 123 lights from DealExtreme. I have one and it's really bright, but it doesn't have low-power modes.

Perhaps those new wolf-eyes? ive only read about them briefly, but they seem worth a second look.

Dealextreme Cree U2 style light for 25.00 is the best bang for the buck LED lumen wise.

If you want maximum throw, the lumapower D-Mini. If you want more throw than that (D-Mini is up there with full-sized lights for throw) try fitting it with a 30x15mm aspheric lens. I'm not positive that it will work (if someone has actually done it, I'd like to hear about it), however, I have used this lens in a Lumapower M1 successfully, and the D-Mini does have the same head diameter. here are some beamshots of what the M1 looks like with that lens.

For the most possible light in the smallest possible package (read: 130 lumen keychain light) try the Fenix L0D-CE with 10440 LiIon battery.

For 1xCR123, I'll say Fenix P2D-CE. It uses the same interface as the L1D CE which is very elegant, and has multiple current-regulated output levels. Twist to go straight from low to turbo, tap to go from low->med->high->SOS, tap to go from turbo->strobe

You've come to the wrong place!! There are no high powered lights here, less in the 123 thing youre mentioning. You wont get any help, and the people here have no idea what you talking about.. i suggest you leave right now before its too late... O if you ever find out what an Orb Raw NS Cree is , I suggest you dont buy that either...the thing is no brighter than a candle and wont serve you any purpose, sincerely I dont even know what that is... One word of advice HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLET...

Lol...my wallet has only begun to be abused (see sig)

+1 on the Fenix P2D-CE. Lots of brightness levels in a small package.
The soon to come Fenix P1 Cree might be what you want if you want a tiny single cell single setting bright light. http://fenix-store.com coupon code CPF8

whats the diff between the P1D and the P2D?

Looking for a nice mix of throw and flood, mostly for short range indoor use.

You need Orb Raw Ns upgraded with a Seoul emitter. Trust me on this.

? never heard of it. Sounds interestering.

Welcome to CPF

P1D-CE
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_p1d.htm
P2D-CE
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_p2dce.htm
L0D-CE
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/fenix_l0dce.htm
Note Quickbeam at FLR only tested the L0D-CE with regular AAA batteries 1.2V-1.7V. The 10440 3.6V li-on runs it 3X brighter (this is not supported by Fenix or the Fenix store).

Fenix store discount code CPF8 8% off.
If you want to run the L0D-CE on 10440 you can get it, the batteries and charger all at the same time from lighthound. The batteries and charger are at the bottom of the page.

Orb Raw NS
http://www.flashlightreviews.com/reviews/orb_rawns.htm
Note this thing uses 10280 batteries. Getting replacement batteries might be a problem. Also your friends might not be impressed when the light goes dark in about 10 minutes.
Orb sells direct

LumaPower LumaCraft D-Mini
http://www.batteryjunction.com/d-mini.html
Note the big reflector which gives it a lot of throw but difficult to carry in a pocket.

The P1D is a twisty multilevel 123 light. The P2D is a tail click multilevel single 123 Light. I recommended the P1 Cree which is much cheaper single level twisty.

I also recommend the P2CDE 135 Lumens. 55$ (Best lumen for $$$)

P1DCE 135 lumens 67$

P1CE 90 lumens 40$

And don't forget the coupons.

I just received some cheapo crees flashlights and when you light the Fenix you SEE a big difference.

First Post - Many Flashlights . Can't reccoemend the NS Raw highly enough. Insanely bright for its size on high, practical enough on low. Tritium locators and available in sterling silver or titanium if torch porn is your thing. As for the wallet............:poof:!

The P3D-CE is probably the best lumens for money now - 160 lumens?
