Hello. I'm new here so please forgive me if I'm asking a question Thar's been answered already. I live on a very small income . I would like to get a good light to mount on my SKS. I've been considering three of the Wolf Eyes brand lights. Here is a link to the model I like best.

And lastly

I'm not going to be using it to awful much and probably only put 400-500 rounds through my SKS per year now that I'm disabled.
I know very little about tactical lights. Are the Wolf Eyes good quality lights?
The only other light I've considered is the Surefire G3. I really like the price but I'm unsure of the durability with the effects of recoil. What do you all think?
This is the mount I plan on using:

I would be glad to hear opinions and suggestions on the Mount too. I've already mounted a rail to the SKS and have been using a 45 lumen LED light I bought from Wal-Mart. I can say this it has proven to be a tough little light it's just not powerful enough for me. I just need an affordable and dependable light to mount on my gun.;)

I can help you part way. I have one of the Wolf-Eyes light and it is a very well built light. Their entry into LEDs is rather recent so a ton of info can be found in the incandescent forums. Some one will be along that knows about using it as a weapons light. If you drop into the Dealers and Manufacturers forums go to Dealer discussions their is a CPF specials sticky on discounts available to members. PTS is on that list. Watch what configuration you buy, every piece but the main body is available seperately. Look in Incans for a wolf-eyes Lego thread. Its a good light!:twothumbs Enjoy

I hope I can help...

I am the Technical Director of the Scottsdale Gun Club. I'm also a completely rabid flashlight nut. I've got a fighting-grade light on every one of my defensive firearms, one of which is an AK. I built this light to be a budget light on a budget gun.

The components are a standard SureFire 6P, a Z32 Shock Isolated Bezel, shrouded clickie tailcap (I don't remember a model number, I've had it for years) a standard 1" Weaver scope ring, and SureFire's (I believe it's called) M14 barrel mount. At full retail, this whole list is right around $100 and it's practically bulletproof. As a rightie, my support hand's thumb lines up perfectly behind the switch. For weight, I originally was planning to use a G2 body (also get some good shock isolation out of the Nitrolon body) but given the proximity to the gas ports, I didn't want propellant gases eating my light away too fast. I've had this light on the stick for more than a thousand rounds and it's never blinked. The fact you already have a rail, skip the M14 mount, the weaver will mate up to the piccatinny perfectly. The polymer mount you show below has been a rough fit on other applications, took some liberal Dremel work to get it onto some rails. I've moved on to the simplicity of $6 scope rings for these applications.

I hope I haven't barfed too much information and clouded the concept. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask... :grin2:
