I am wanting to order a wolf-eyes cree P4 HO(D26) rated at 170 lumen for my SF C2. I know a 17670 rechargeable battery will work for the 130 lumen lamp, but will it push the 170 lumen module?

Yes you can use the 170 lumens HO Cree with 17670 cell from AW.

I use this setup with my Surefire M2 and Digital HO 170 4-mode from W-E.

No problem. Great setup. Just less runtime than with 18650 cell (2200mAh vs. 1600mAh).

2200mAh gives ~110 minutes runtime.
1600mAh will give ~80 minutes runtime.

Will either of these battery combinations fit a Surefire G2 ??

So the 17670 gives the longer runtime....correct?

Thanks!

Yes longer with 17670, unfortunately 18650 doesn't fit G2, or it would have been the ideal partner.

Thanks Jump!!!! Time to pay Lighthound a visit for a few AW 17670's.

WHAT! I talked to Mike on the phone and he said the 170 Lumen HO Cree needed at least 5 volts...maybe he meant to say amperes...I'll have to send an e-mail. I just got my 130 lumen Cree :faint:

I noticed the voltage difference also. When I run just one 18650 at 3.7v it seems to run just as bright for the first 30 minutes or so (maybe). Afterwards it's much cooler and slightly dimmer but exceeds 1 hour+. When I use 2xRCR123 at 3.7v each it runs hot all the way until failure which is around 1 hour 6 minutes. Maybe the 18650 is not running regulated?

I'm talking from the 3,7V-6V version dropin (130 or 170 lumens)
It is regulated with one 18650/17670 cell, or with 2xcr123's.

But concerning the 3,7V-13V version dropin (130/170 lumens), it's true that the dropin is regulated only from 4,8V.
Use with 17670/18650 is not regulated, but you have longer runtime.

I have a 130 lumen 3,7V-13V dropin that I use with 2xRCR123's for maintaining regulation, and have also the Digital dropin 4-mode (3,7V-6V), WICH IS REGULATED with single 17670/18650 cell.

Be sure you'll buy the 3,7V-6V dropin for use with 1x 17670/18650 and maintain regulation !

:)
