I saw a Ultrafire WF-801 for about $15.00 (AUS) and it has a K2 Emitter,

I have been reading the Seoul P4's have a similar beam pattern as the K2's, since I have some bare seoul emitters on there way would this make a good warm up mod before I mod my Hokus Focus?

Thanks

It should work. But you'll have to make sure that the Seoul has a good thermal path (without shorting to the heat-sink) or it will overheat. A Seoul, rated to about 3.7 watt, might be overdriven if swapped for a K2 LED, which is rated to about 6.5 Watt. A Edison Opto might work better since its beam pattern is almost identical to a Luxeon's (from the Info I have read).

I will look out for that,

Though from what I have read this K2 is only being driven at 6V, 500mA, so should be a 3W? I will check before I go ahead and change it but I should see no problem, Jut got a fresh batch of arctic silver epoxy so should be right to insulate it.

By chance has anyone done this mod? just to see if there are some good results?

Thanks,
