So I just tried swapping out the momentary switch with the reverse clickie using the guide at batteryjunction.com (http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/theshorelinemarket/Switching.pdf). Problem is the clickie switch gets jammed after a couple of turns into the tailcap.

That's as far as I can get it before it gets stuck.

Any ideas on what can be done?

This is the first light I got that has something that isn't clear on the threads...

Any idea what that stuff is? I generally use Nyogel 760G on all the threads of my lights but not sure if I can on this one.

Re: What is that stuff on the threads of my flashlight?

I have an M1 Hunter and mine didn't look like that. Just clean the stuff off with isopropyl and apply your Nyogel 760G..I use Nyogel on my M1 and it works fine!

That sludge was on my MRV. It made the operation stiff as it hardened over time. As recommended, use IPA to clean it off and replace it with a quality lube for flashlights (I used Krytox).

Is is possible that it is a reaction between two dissimilar metals creating some sort of metal oxide?

You just removed the conductive crease, that Lumapower applied for better electrical contact...
