If the ends of the tubes are clean of lube, etc., I'd first try backing the head off ever-so-slightly. That has worked on some similar form-factors. Also, it could be that the tube isn't even contacting the ring in the head (or tail). Try turning the spanner ring or module in towards the body.

Just received one for trade, cannot get the 123 body to work. Everything seems clean and tight but this body will not function. Was informed by trader, works with the AA bodies. Suggestions?
You were informed that it "only" worked with AA bodies?

I have a similar problem with the 1xAA body, my CR123a body works fine, and the 2xAA combination works fine... would love to know why...

There is a contact in the head of the battery tube, that can be adjusted.
Perhaps it's not properly contacting the battery?
