Guys please help, Which one is brighter Ultrafire C3 or Hugsby Cree P11 both will be fed by 1x14500. Or can anyone recommends better alternative that uses single 14500 battery? I have Ultrafire C3 and sell it to my friend so havent test it with 14500 yet but i think 2xAA or 1x14550 doesnt make any different in C3 according to amp draw. I'll get Ultrafire C3 again but it is not as bright as i would expect from 2xAA or 1x14500 so thinking of trying to get another brand. Anyone bought cheep 14500 flashlight from DX? how is it? is it bright? or maybe single CR123 flashlights are better?

ps. no Dexlight saphire please(too expensive)

Thanks

Still waiting on the newer DX lights, but I can tell you the C3 is about 25% brighter on 14500 than it is on 1AA, according to my home-made lightbox (initial brightness).

As you've noticed, there's basically no significant difference in output in 2AA configuration vs 1AA on this light (although runtime is more than doubled, and light is very well regulated on 2AA).

I doubt any of the cheaper DX options will be brigther on 14500. I know you don't want to hear it, but the DX X.1 or Jetbeam MkIIX are the only lights I know to be significantly brighter on 14500 (about ~40% brighter than the C3 on 14500).

Could you point me to DX x.1 flashlight i've been searching but cant find the link to DX. hmm i might get C3 again and try it with 14500 or 3xaa just for fun. but wondering since the C3 tube is really small even sanyo 2700 doesnt fit would protected 14500 battery fits?

Thanks
