Anyone drop in two cr123s in a 1w luxeon Dorcy Metal Gear or Hawkeye?

I am actually modding a hawkeye but i believe the components are similar to the metal gear judging by the pics and their both 1 watt luxeon.

After some slight modding i put 2 cr123s in there and its nice and bright now. I know its too much for the led to handle but i wanted to know if anyone changed the resistor to a 2.2 ohm like in the metal gear mod at flashlightreviews. Never said if the led survived.

Yeah thats the metal gear mod i was talking about, But wanted to know if the resistor mod helped.

Thanks for the link. I was thinking maybe i can jam one of these in there, take off the springs and solder wires to the switchboard. http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1343

If it doesn't fit i would use it for another mod later. Measurements seem about right though.
