I've never seen a beamshot thread here before so I figured I'd start one. Everyone please post your favorite/best/most interesting beamshots here, along with a description of the light used.

This is my most impressive beamshot so far, even though not very practical. It's a 100W 12V Halogen driven on 18V with a cheapo reflector. Hopefully soon I will have much better beamshots as I get more into modding.

wow this thread will be very interesting...

this is a mag85 with 9XENERGIZER, FM 3D>9AA, FM MOP, FM bi-pin adapter, spring resistence fix, borolens, direct drive.
I have ordered a 2,5" throwmaster by FM 2/3 days ago...and of course I will post a beamshot with my mag85+throwmaster.
excuse for the low quality pic:ohgeez:

OK, I'm downscaling. Before and after shots of a keyring torch I modified.

Before: 1.5V, 200mA incandescent, powered by a single N cell.

After: 6 white LEDs, overdriven to a total 1.1W. The middle third of the pic is completely overexposed.

Photos taken at 1/2 second, f8, ISO 50, daylight white balance, in a dark room.

PS. Remember, the initial bulb had a CRI of 100. Huh.

Here's the SF A2 GN beamshots through a cheap magnifying glass projected onto the wall. Shows both the LEDs and incan in action. First shot is when the incan has dropped out of regulation with nearly exhausted cells. The second one at full power.

Well I Finally got round to taking some beamshots.

I was originally only going to compare my standard HDS U60GT with a Seoul P4 modded one, but thought what the heck why not take them all out to play...

My knowledge of photography is very limited. All the photos were taken on a compact camera with the exposure and shutter speeds fixed throughout. Each picture show a desaturated version on the right to help compare the beams.

That's all folks!

All Mods were done by me and before joining CPF I knew nothing about flashlights.

Thanks to everyone how has passed on their knowledge, and thank you to all the international sellers who provide such a great service to us in the UK

Very cool Terry! Thanks for taking the time to post those pics. I think the Mag85 wins overall, but I guess that is subjective.

Here's one I did today. Stock light on the left (PWT), modded on the right (100/180 Rebel). Lights are otherwise identical.

Some people think that Fenix Crees have rings. Ha! I'll show you rings. Presenting...

The Evil Eye Beamshot

The flashlight belongs to a friend of mine, he got it at Costco. It is a hand crank light with a built in radio. It has 3 LEDs in a row, with a collimating lens in front of each of them. It does have a purple/blue tint, but not as violently blue as shown in the photo. The picture was taken with my friend's camera on automatic, I have no idea what white balance it picked.

Here's another beamshot, this time with the light held perpendicular to the wall, you can see the rings are circular and concentric, but the "eye" is less noticeable.

Thanks to GTH (not a CPF member) for the use of his flashlight and camera.
