Hi, i have this cheap little flashlight that draws 2 amps from single AA but not as bright as other single AA cree i owns that draws about 1amp. It get really hot just after 5 minutes of use(fresh nimh) so i assumed that the LED is driven near its limit than it must be the lower BIN LED that making it less brighter than standar P4 bin.Now the question, can i tell which bin this LED is belongs to by just looking at the emitter? i have Q5 bin and plan to swap the emitter.

Thanks.

Some new Crees have 4 bond wires instead of the three of others. Also, if the emitter is in a production light that wasn't advertised as having a high-bin emitter, it's probably a P3 or P4.
