Are 14500's The best choice for the Dexlight x1?

Did a search with no answer..

Just wondering if the 18560's works with this light, or if there is a better runtime/brightness option out there..

Re: BEST batterys for delight x1

Try AW's 14500's available at Lighthound or in the marketplace from AW himself. You will also need a charger.

The Dexlight will get hot quickly but it will be intensely bright.

An 18650 rechargeable (the approximate length of 2 CR123's) won't fit in the X1. As mentioned you need a 14500 (the approximate length of 1 AA). I have two 14500's and they are slightly too long for the X1. I accidentally pushed in the top of one of the batteries when trying it out. I think I got lucky and received a really bright one so there was not a big enough diffence to continue using the 14500. NiMH work fine and have better runtime than alkaline.

Which 14500s do you have? I think I am going to try Ultrafire's protected 14500 soon. Do you know if that'll fit.

I have 14500's I bought from CPF member AW. I don't know if the ultrafire's will fit. I have notices some length difference among my RCR123's. i'm sure there are differences in the 14500's. Good luck, I hope they fit your light.

AW and his products are great, but the new UltraFire protected 14500 cells (just released) are half the price.

Ultrafire Shop lists these @$5.80 (each or for two?), and they should be available very soon at DX, Kai and other merchants. They are the gray cover protected cells like the 18650 and 16340 cells already released. Now if we can get Nano to make a 14500 charger . . .

The Ultrafire Shop checkout wasn't working, so I went to their Ebay site. I got two Ultrafire protected 14500 cells (gray) for $9.70 including shipping.

I have some ultrafires comming, how do you guys know when to pull these out of your lights?? I am worried about over-discharging these when I get them..

Also, Are the rechargables higher volt than the non rechargables?

I think rechargeable 14500 li-ions are 3.7 volts but really 4.2 when fully charged. Lithium primary cells such as CR123 is only 3V. So I would assume a non rechargeable 14500 would be 3V if there is a such thing.

Don't get me wrong because I like AW and his products, but two AW protected 14500 cells from Lighthound are more than $26 shipped. Today I bought two UltraFire (gray) protected 14500 cells from the Ultrafire Shop for $9.50 shipped, or slightly more than one-third the cost.

Was the shipping price included in the $5.80 price they have listed. Because I thought shipping was included in the price displayed.

The Ultrafire Shop web site sells the UF protected 14500 (gray) for $5.80 including shipping. I got two from the Ultrafire Shop through EBay for $4.75 each including shipping.:twothumbs

I thought the Ultrafire Shop sells them in a 2 pack. So it would be $5.80 shipped for 2 of them at the Ultrafire Shop right? It says 2 pack in the description.
