SF A2 news, talked to CS today

I called to order one because I read it was shipping. The CS person said that's not true and it will ship sometime at the end of the month. I asked if dealers are getting them first before SF sells them to the public he said no. When it ships to the dealers, SF will sell them direct.

Next, I asked if there are backorders or enough to fill all orders. He said since it's been held up so long that they will have enough to fill all orders.

I'm calling back tomorrow to see if I can talk to a different CS person to verify this. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif

Well, this has happened to me before so I'm not losing hope. When the KL1 was released, I called the day it was released and the CS person told me that it wasn't shipping for another couple of weeks. I hung up and called right back and got another CS person who got it to my doorstep the next day.

Same deal with the Pyrex lens 6P bezel. I was told that there is no such part, I gave the part # and told them that the C2/C3 bezel comes with Pyrex. At my doorstep the next day.

CS people are very iffy, some seem to know the scoop and others don't. It's not only at SF however, when Sport Chalet had their PT Surge sale for $20 I went and asked if they had any yellows in stock. The "dive specialist" told me that they only make Blue and Black. I had to tell him that I have a yellow one at home but he still didn't believe me. Hmm....I think if you should be interested in what you sell. Or maybe it's just me?

I confirmed that the A2 shipped last week to some international dealers; additionally, SF will be shipping - (and has already shipped) to some dealers here in the States as of today.

ARGH! Darn them. I could have had it tomorrow if he shipped it today. I'll call back tomorrow. Thanks for the confirmation.

I agree with Surefire M6 - the many people in sales/cus service of any company, product knowledge is the 1 thing that'll either make or break the deal for me. It's disheartening when two people working supposedly side by side tell you contradicting stories.

I hate this one too: I'll take my truck in for service and the Service Attendant has to ask me what year the car is. There are small differences that tell you what year the car is in most cases. In 2002, Mitsubishi switched to chrome badging, mine is Red (pre-02) and the roof rack went parrallel to the truck, mine has crossbars (Pre-2002) and so on. If you know Mitsubishis, you know my truck is a 2001. The service attendant always asks me: 2002 or 3? DOH /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ohgeez.gif.

Anyway, back to the topic - I hope I'll get the right person tomorrow so I can get my A2 /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif.

Talk to your dealer about when you can expect to get yours.

For all you know, your dealer may have a two week wait and then you are the 600th guy on his list.

Worrying about it doesn't help.

i talked to sf cs yesterday and was told they weren't shipping. like ted, i KNOW they have already shipped to dealers. dealers will have them by the end of this week.

It is worth repeating that SureFire is not the only one in the world who suffers from "differing stories" with their CS. As has been stated, at almost every company you call and ask about something, you could call back a minute later - talk to someone else, and get completely different story. I have found this to be especially true when trying to make a doctor or dentist appointment. You ask them to get you in at noon on the earliest possible day and they say the best they can do is two months from now. Call back an hour later and you can almost always get one sooner. Always get a second opinion!

So when will we start getting our A2's ? Does anyone know? Does anyone from surefire ever read and answer these posts? It boggles the mind that they can make such great products while having such mediocre marketing communications and customer service.

I'm quite certain that A2 is available in Hong Kong. Like L1 which is also available a little earlier than in the U.S.

I just called SF, and as you can imagine, was told that the A2's were not due to be shipped until the first week of March. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

Note to self: take aspirin first, then call SF CS, not the other way around.

The SureFire facility in Fountain Valley isn't too far away from where I live... I'm contemplating knocking on their front door one day... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon6.gif

How many CS reps does SureFire have?
Every e-mail I've sent has been answered by George.
Even when I had my problem with my L1 Paul forwarded my issue to George.

I was told March 10th by my SF Distributor. BUT I have been told many suposed dates regarding SF stuff... But until I have a knock on the door with a UPS guy with a heavy box and a hernia, I'll just say 2003 ;-)

Me too. I just called, they said it has not shipped even to distributors. Either they are lying or they just don't know.
