I bought a coast micro since it is a small one cell light. It even has a backlight. I use it for inline skating and geocaching. The backlight really helps not getting shot by hunters running through the forrest at night.
But the light was to dimm and the regulation is not good enough. So i decided to mod it. Replaced the front led with the head of a Jetbeam C-LE. Since the original swith wasnt useful i put a whole inova X1 at the back. So i have an AA cell powering the Jetbeam head and a AAA cell powering the backlight for very long runtime i guess. So now i got the perfect headlamp for my purpose (oh, its not small and lightweigh any more).
So thats how you mod three good working flashlights into one:
