max ultrafire c5 voltage

My ultrafire c5 dont works on 1.2v batteries, i was wondering if i could use 1 cr123 + 1 AA nimh battery togeter but i dont know if it will fry the led
what is the max voltage that the led can handle?

Do not use 1 CR123 and a AA battery together, the 3V battery will try to charge the 1.2V one and may result in an explosion.

Did you use 2 AA rechargeable batteries?

Usually, white LED runs at 3.3-3.7v.

You probably won't fry the LED with to much voltage but you might fry the regulator.

yes but the output was about 10% on 1.2v nimh batteries, works only on 1.5v non rechargeagle batteries

Weird, according to this review, the Ultrafire C5 should run for 2 hours on two 2000 mAh 1.2V Eneloops with the same performance as a C5 running on 1 CR123 batteries.
