I was wondering when Greg would cut loose the Ti Chammie. Nice price on that bad boy! Congrats to the lucky new owner.

I could just kick myself for not buying the Titanium Chameleon when I could have done it for a much smaller number. I have all of the others as well as the bulk head and the big bulk head to go with them. Too bad that Unfortunately I just can't add this beauty to complete my Chameleon collection. Maybe next time. The Chamleon really is a wonderful flashlight. Seeing this post has made me pull all of mine out of their holding cell and change out the lion cells dust them off and shine them at the trees in the dark. Thanks for reminding me that I have some really extreemely cool flashlights. That dam Cham is wonderful. There is one which is more unique than all of them, that one is mine # 25 of 24. That's right #25 of 24 units. Amazing..I still haven't figured it out and Mr Bulk never explained it to me.
Good luck with the sale. I am sure these will find their way into the home of a deserving person who will use them in good health.

James, it's because #00 counted as the first of the "24" units.

Using that logic the #24 light would be the 25th unit and #25 would be the 26th unit out of 24 which makes even less sense.

I'm not saying it's logical. It's the facts.

I agree This makes even less sense... to me anyway.
I am and have been totally confused about this since I received #25 of 24 units made.
I am sure there is a simple explaination I just don't know what it is.
I just wish I could have got my hands on this titanium chameleon. Like I said it would have completed my chameleon collection.
Oh well. I still beleive that I am the owner of the most unusual light made in the series.
These damascus chameleons are simply the most incredible flashlights I have ever seen. They are extreemely heavy and really are totally unique no two are the same. Mine is no slouch in the performance department either. Not a light I would ever part with at any price. Good luck with the sale. Sorry about the side track. I guess this could be considderd a BUMP TO THE TOP...for free.

It's made of damascus steel and those lines of folded steel go all the way through the metal. It's not a finish as much as a type of metal. Gorgeous, ain't she?

It can be enhanced (the colors REALLY brought out) by CPF'er (and master knifemaker) Osprey Guy. He is a world renowned knifemaker and nitre blue expert.

Thanks for stepping in with the answers Troy.

Chief-Yeah, the colours on the Damascus Chameleon can be enhanced by sending it back to Osprey Guy. Click here for how the colours maybe enhanced by further re-finishing.. I have no idea if it can be refinished to look like raw steel..

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Regentag stripped one of his and brought it back to the raw steel look. Pretty cool looking, if you ask me. Contrasting shades of white, to gray, to black. Pics can be found at FF, or drop me a PM and I'll see what I can do.

I'm an idiot for bringing this up... the Dam Cham thread has over 24K reads, so scoring anything up is "pull up the waders time."

Here's a pic of one of Daniel's final iterations, the beauty and fun of damascus is that you can have so much fun with it. That's why we did it. Drop Regentag a PM over on FF, and he can give you some good info.

    Was there an unlucky #13?
Some creators like FM never have an unlucky #13 so maybe that is why
    yours is #25 of #24?

Does that mean I would have to worry about rust?

Well, it depends on several factors including the humidity in your area and whether you plan to edc it I have one of these and I live in the Caribbean (i.e. very high humidity) and rust has never been an issue. Granted, I consider this light a work of "functional art", thus it's not in my edc rotation. However, even if it was, I'm pretty sure some basic maintenance would keep it looking great. Sentry Solutions Tuf Cloth or even some sporadic wiping with a bit of good'ol WD40 will be enough. Just my 2c...
