I have repeatedly posted in several threads that the answer to this is NO. My info came straight from novatac and hds.
My novatac arived today.
My 2x123 tube works fine with it.
I don't plan on using it, but I figured I would check for you.

Now that the shock has worn off...
The is a difference between the tubes. The lip on the novatac tube has a machined edge with a little step down.
But, it does work. It tightens up nice and snug. The o-ring is in the right spot also.

Several months ago, I sent my HDS off to a modder in Canada. It never came back. So, I have the 17670 (2 x 123) tube with no light.
My Novatac 120P should be here tomorrow. Now I'm even more excited!
