PT Torrent...

For the past few years I have owned 2 PT surges and a Tec40 for my daughter. In those few years the 2 surges have been sent back 3 times and repaired/replaced by Princeton Tec. Well the surges were having issues again: bulbs blow after putting in new batteries, switch problems so I sent PT an e-mail about the problems. Well I worked with SID and he had UPS pickup the lights from my home. One week later I have 2 brand new Torrents and a new Tec40. I'll let you know if I have the same problems with these. PT takes care of their customers..

Many of us would be interested to know (and see) the differences between the Surge and the Torrent. I wonder if they have cut the output to deal with heat issues and used a higher V bulb to deal with the instaflash problems reported.

My Surge had neither of these issues. My biggest complaint was the difficulty in removing the battery carrier. I ended up using a small triangular file to cut grooves in the locking tabs so they could be gripped.
