Sold/Expired SF L2 Lumimax to Headlamp Conversion?

Anyone every think about taking the head and placing a cable between it and the battery tube to create a "headlamp"? This would locate the battery source on a belt loop, etc. Man, the things I could do if only I had a machining center.....:sigh:
