batteries stuck in my streamlight help?

I opened my sons streamlight twintask gen I led/halogen and the batteries have some corrsion around them . I can't get them out for the life of me. Any tricks . I wondered about taking the bulb assembly out and trying to push them out but the head of the lilght looks tricky so I don't dare. help:mecry:

Welcome to CPF! Can you access the other end of the light and work em out that way? Otherwise what I usually do is drill a hole in the center of the batteries, you must be fairly steady with a drill to do this. About a 3/16 hole - 7/32 will work well. The key is to take your time and work on 1 cell at a time, I usually use a pick. The battery may pop out or you may have to remove it in pieces, it just depends on the amount of corrosion that is there. Don't drill into the head, put some tape on the drill bit as a guide. If it's a cheap light it may not be worth your time, if not usually you can get them out. Wear gloves too to protect your hands. Have fun!
