I have one of those fluorescent lamps that directs the light to the ceiling. It uses the GE 55watt two-pin rectangular bulbs.

Anyway, the switch broke so I though I'd just cut it out, connect the wires and then use one of those on/off switches at the outlet instead.

Here's my problem/question:

The main wires running into the switch were the expected black and white. However, on the output side of the switch, there are four wires, black, white, and red and yellow. I'm guessing that those extra wires have something to do with the small ballast.

So, what do I connect the red and yellow wires to?

OK, stop laughing, and just give me the answer, please. :D
