Another upgrade with lux numbers. This Q5 is also from Endeavour's group buy. Again, I like the tint. Battery used was a CR123 measured at 3.0V.
The percentile gain on this swap is higher than on the LOD CE swap.

....................P4..........Q5..
Low.............420.........530
Med.............2030.......2700
High.............4170.......5770
Turbo...........7150.......9600

Turbo.......10,400...with a 4.0V RCR123

I added the percent increase in output in bold:

....................P4..........Q5..
Low.............420.........530 +26%
Med.............2030.......2700 +33%
High.............4170.......5770 +38%
Turbo...........7150.......9600 +34%

I'd say those are noticeable. :)

Thought I would do something daring. I put a P3D tube with 6V in it behind the P2D head. I just kept it on long enough for the meter to get a reading, about 3 sec. It showed 18,100 lux, wow that's 250lm.

Brightnorm ran that setup for quite a while, there's a whole thread about it. A few other people tried it with much less success.

How hard was it to replace the P4 with a Q5. Did you have to mod the reflector at all?
