The customised Mini-Hid by Mac is a relatively small HID but with big surface brightness.
The Boxer 24W HID has higher voltage but what about its reflector?
A 10W by Ra has also huge throwing capabilities.
Which throws farther?

My 10watt HID has a very special bulb-reflector setup, creating a very high surface-brightness beam: 250.000 cp or 1 lux at 500m.

The average 10watt HID produces about 80.000 cp (1lux at 280m).

The Boxer 24watt will put out much more lumens no doubt. I don't know about the throw of the Boxer, but with 1lux at 500m, my mini has about the same throw as the 35 watt McCulloch X-990 !

Ra.

Ok strideredc,

Have you seen this: https://www.candlepowerforums.com/threads/126565

That's my super 10watt HID-monster.. At post #33 of that thread are a few beamshots at 520m. The 35 watt Halogen-spotlight is overdriven and produces 230.000 cp.

Unfortunately I don't have other HID's (exept my 45/65watt HID Platinum Thor..)
to compare.

On the manufacturer's site of the McCulloch X-990, a beampattern-illustration showed a throw of 1lux at 500 .. That's why I dared to say that my ini-mini-HID has the same throw as the 990.

Regards,

Ra.
