SureFire LED Lifespan

Hi everyone,

I was wondering on the Surefire L2, L4, L5, and L6, what is the expected lifespan in hours for the heads. I thought Luxeon leds were supposed to be in the thousands of hours range, but I have recently heard that it may not be quite that high. Thank you.

According to the specs of the used LuxV, <500 hours with decreasing performance.

I wouldn't let the 500 hours lifespan of the LuxV worry you. First, I have never heard of any widespread problems from L4 or L2 users regarding their lights dimming. And even if they did dim significantly, Surefire would replace it under warranty.

Has anyone ever seen an LED "wear out" under normal usage?
