BMW and Mercedes HID ballasts

I have access to a number of BMW and Mercedes ballasts, can they be used for DIY HID lights?

not sure about mercedes but bmw x5 hella gen III ballast are good to use.

I do too, ................but the guy down the road would have trouble driving at night if I take them :whistle:

:crackup: no no, nothing like that......an artist i know collects modern headlights and makes very futuristic animal/cyborg/alien heads out of paired/matched sets. he has no use for the ballasts and either sells them for $100 - $1000 each, depending on the unit, or has said he'll give me one or two to play with.

If there are just terminals for V+ and V- I don't see why not. Depending on the form factor you might have to get creative about the housing.

dont recognize any of those....the ones i can get seem to have a bundle of 10 wires.
