Does anyone know if the L4 body can support the new Seoul heads [provided they sell them as standalone]?
would it be better to use a KL3 head instead?
as the lighting needs are not of up most importance, using a KL3 would be slightly downgrading its performance but will reduce the heat output and perhaps extending the runtime :grin2:

I've recently acquired one and so far the only disadvantage I know of is its heat...
I figured if theres a chance of it being improved I'd find a way to improve it.

any recommendations welcome:huh:

Firstly, SureFire has not released any "Seoul heads".
Secondly, the KL3 is for the standard body series (6P/G2 etc)

KL1 - discontinued. Replaced by KX1 (for E1e), and KX2 (for E2e etc). (Cree XR-E, TIR)
KL2 - discontinued. (was for M3). (19 5mm white-light LEDs)
KL3 - for 6P/G2 etc (LuxeonIII, TIR)
KL4 - for E2e (etc) (LuxeonV, reflector)
KL5 - for 6P/G2 etc (LuxeonV, reflector)
KL6 - likely discontinued. (was for M3). (LuxeonV, reflector)
KL7 - for 8AX/8NX etc (LuxeonV, reflector)

L1 (does not feature a KL or KX bezel) (Cree XR-E, TIR)
L2 (does not feature a KL or KX bezel) (LuxeonV, reflector)
L3 - model code not in use.
L4 uses the KL4 on an E2e body.
L5 uses the KL5 on an M2/C2 body.
L6 (discontinued) uses the KL6 on an M3 body.
L7 uses the KL7 on an 8AX body.

E1L uses KX1 (Cree XR-E) on an E1e body.
E2L uses KX2 (Cree XR-E) on an E2e body.

6PL/G2L uses the P60L LED Lamp Assembly (featuring Seoul Semiconductor [SSC] LED in a reflector) in standard 6P/G2 flashlights.

U2 uses LuxeonV, reflector
K2 uses LuxeonIII, TIR

Titan uses SSC LED, reflector (unless this has changed)

X200A uses LuxeonIII, TIR
X200B uses LuxeonV, reflector
X300 uses Cree XR-E, TIR (unless this has changed)

In time SureFire will likely be offering the KX1 (for one-SF123A (E1e) bodies), KX2 (for two-SF123A (E2e/L4/M600 etc) bodies), and the P60L (P60 replacement) as accessories. However, it continues to be SureFire's 'policy' to sell whole flashlights first before offering new products as accessories.

I hope this helps?
Al :)

Illum, are you just wondering if one of the new generation E head, LEDs will work on an L4 body? Yes, If you remove the head of say...an E2L and screw it onto an L4 body it will work. If they eventually sell them as standalones you'll be good to go :)

I have an extra VG2 body and was looking to doing something with it as well. I was thinking of going with a McGizmo head instead because of availability.
