Thought I'd let you all know: I found myself a Brinkmann LX at Galyan's for $19.99 today. I understand it's been difficult to find them in brick-and-mortar stores. You can get them at Galyans, if you have Galyans's in your area. The one in Richfield, MN has about 20 of them on the shelves.

Overall, it seems like a pretty decent light. It's not as much brighter than my Luxeon Star light as I had hoped, but I think it will probably have greater range than the LS does. I'll have to wait for sundown to see for sure. <homer>Stupid Daylight...</homer>

One thing that I hadn't noticed from reading about the LX is that it has a stochastic reflector... I wasn't expecting that, and it really does give a nice even beam, without the rings I'm used to seeing from MagLites and the like. This is the first incandescant I've owned that had something other than a smooth reflector. Very cool light, good price, a winner I think...

Just my $0.01 (It's not worth $0.02.)
