From what I know, Nordic was closed sometimes last year.

Now, the remains seem to have arrived overseas /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Globetrotter

offers the 2D variety for 9,95EUR, at least in my case ( I ordered 2 of them ) incl. s&h

Basically a maglite w/ a slightly different bezel design, I guess it will be a well-built, inexpensive thing to mod, esp. with those PR-base EverLED´s.

What´s cool about them: you can make a 4D out of 2 x 2D, or a 10D out of 5 x 2D /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Will review them when they arrive, probably in 1 or 2 days.

I expect those would do just fine. Radioshak sold the Nordic 3 C lites for a while and a lot of people have used them for a mod-base.
