Super-Bright Ultrastinger

Does anyone know of a 3-6 Cree/Seoul mod for the UltraStinger (or an even brighter incandescent option). I really like the charger setup of that light and would love to find a way to bump it into the over 500 Lumen range.

Only problem is, Streamlight doesn't measure its lumens ratings out the front. The 295 number for the UltraStinger is closer to about 160 lumens out the front. I know of no conversion that would boost those 160 lumens to 500. (At least not where it counts. Namely, out the front). Doesn't mean I think it's a poor light. I just wish the lumens numbers were more realistic.

A far as a rechargeable that puts out close to 500 lumens, I'll soon be ordering an L600 from Lighthound.com.

Know that if you increase the wattage much above stock, the plastic lens will not tolerate the heat.

I don't know how to mod this light with multiple LED's. The simpler incan upgrade allows you to retain the stock reflector and focusing mechanism.

Hmm...

Good point on the L600. I guess the thing that I like is not having to remove the batteries. I just plug the US into the charger and... Voila.
