I seem to recall reading that it's best if the G2L is in use for no more than 10 minutes at a time, due to its polymer body allowing heat to dissipate less efficiently than aluminum. Can anyone confirm or refute this ? thanks .....

You can use it for more than 10 minutes, but if the temperature gets too high, the light will dim itself about twenty lumens to avoid damage to the emitter.

They probably meant third party drop-ins. The P60L has a temperature sensor to keep the LED form overheating, this is evident in the runtime graphs.
