My 'SkaloMonster' M-876 has landed!

picture001lg8.jpg

Beautifully cutdown 2D maglite In a HA III Natural finish made by Cmaccel.

7 McR16ms paired with SSC USWOHs for a very pleasing floody beam.
The SSC are driven at 500mA each by custom Milky circuits for 876lm, making this the brightest light i've ever had. :eek:oo:

With runtime on 2x C li-ion cells of 2hrs of flat regulation, this makes It a M876 and will serve as a workhorse.
The battery sleeve was made from a 2C Maglite, pretty cool Milky.

Achieving over 800 bulb lumens for 2hrs Is quite a feat. More output than 10W HIDs, smaller, brighter, imho better.
Of course It will not throw as much as an HID, but the spread of light is Great.

The light Is still pretty compact and am really amazed of how much power and runtime this beast has. I'm extremely pleased. Thanks Milky!

The beam Is really something, It's light everywhere and decent hotspot gradually fading into bright sidespill.

Thanks Cmaccel for this gorgeous body and thanks Milkyspit for the beautiful build, It's amazing.
Almost forgot, thanks Ledzeppelin for choosing a name that fits the bill just right.

Hope you guys like It.

That would be pretty insane.
This light has a very well balanced beam. Not too much throw nor too much flood.
Light just spills everywhere.
I can't wait to take some beamshots of this puppy. :twothumbs

Awesome work - it is a mean looking piece of kit. 2 hours run time - the M6 is dead!

Re: Meet the 'SkaloMonster' a M-Series Relative

awesome

Does it have multiple levels (maybe it's using a MaxFlex?) ??

How does it handle heat generated during continious use?

Re: Meet the 'SkaloMonster' a M-Series Relative

Thanks guys, no multiple levels. I believe just two very efficient drivers.
Each Led sees 500mA each, The maglites finned head I believe will help heat, plus the maglite Is nice a beefy.
.
I do believe It gets warm, but I have only used It for about 10-15min or so.

 OK, I`ll take it! :grin2: It must be bright so hury up with those beamshots and BKLIND ME PLEASE! :faint:  With 7 Cree`s and one speed light, I would guess it has a Shark driver??? There is a thread here at CPF I read quite a while back with thremal image pictures for heat dispersion on a standard and finned Mag head. Interesting stuff so I will try to find it and send you a link. ;)

LOL, I have the camera in one hand and the "monster" in the other.
They're coming, not fully dark here.

I see having a finned head isn't exactly better If there is no air moving through It.

Thanks for the link Nebula.

Re: Meet the 'SkaloMonster' a M-Series Relative

I was thinking the thread was started by a different CPF member so I thank you kindly for providing the link. It is an interesting thread that I enjoyed reading and seeing the thermal images he created which I learned quite a bit from since I was still pretty new to the flashlight modding deal at that time and wanting to do more than just swap an LED, change drivers, reflectors or two stage a switch. Modamag put some time into all of it and I just thought Skalomax might enjoy reading the thread. :) He needs to give some of these cool lights like this one to ME! :poke: The "SkaloMonster' should be dropped off at my house Thursday when you are in San Antonio, OK? ...... OK, it`s a deal!

Thursday?
hahaha.gif
Good God man, that's four days from now, and at least three days longer than Skalo has ever held onto a light. :poke:.

.
Seriously though, it is a beautiful light. A MilkyMac or is it MacMilky creation. Either way, nice job guys.
