forgive all my questions tonight but i guess this is how we learn.
does the fenix L1d ce take a 14500.
how is the brightness affected.
is it as bright as p1d or p2d lights.
it's both 3.6 volts right?
how does runtime compare to p1d and p2d?
is this a dangerous battery?

You will lose all the lower modes(they will be the same brightness-turbo). You will only get turbo, strobe, and SOS. It's the same story with a P2D. A 14500 is 3.7v (4.2v fresh off the charger). Over ~3v they run in direct drive.

Yes, it would be brighter than a L2D. It would be the same as a P2D with a 3.7v RCR123.

I've run my L1D using an unprotected 14500, and it is way bright, but it heats up pretty fast. If I want to run it on the max. brightness setting, I personally prefer using the L2D tube with NiMH batteries, or the P2d body with r123 3.0v cells. With the 3.0 cells, You get the different brightness modes.
