wouldn't that be awesome!
would you buy one.
i love the form of my 3aa magled.

for now though, can i buy an extension tube and run 3aa batteries?
i will soon have 3 l2d's and would mind playing around and seeing which one i like best with 3aa batts.
can this be done and would it be brighter because of the voltage?
what lights does l2d share it's head with (any 3.6 volt lights?)

etc

FWIW, I had both 2AA and 3AA Maglite when they came out.

Months later, my 2AA was beat up, twice lost and twice recovered, and heavily used every day.

The 3AA was in brand new condition, hardly ever used. Not an EDC light.

Now 3xRCR123A is something else .

If you run a Fenix L1D/L2D/P2D head at over 3V, you'll lose the multi-levels, and you'll only get "high." There are only 1AA, 2AA, and 1xCR123A body tubes; there are no extension tubes.

nope, that would be awful.
Dont You just hate having to tote around a 3aa light that is sized like it houses four AA cells?
(like the unnecessary long 3AA Magled?)

What would really excite me is an 18650 light.
18650 and low low,
that would open my wallet to buy another Fenix.

I would not buy a 3AA Fenix, but I do like the 3AA Minimag a lot. I might buy another Fenix if they come out with a 2 cell L0P or L0d but other than that, I will pass. Have had too many of them break down, better than 50% of those I have purchased, and for the price of them that is not incentive to buy more.

Similar form-factor to the Streamlight ProPolymer 4AA Luxeon.

I would like to see a side by side 4 aa like the SL 4AA lights.

Deep reflector for mean throw, just super bright high and low low mode and a forward clicky.
Come one Fenix, you can do it!
