I just bought a P3D Q5 with AW RCR123A and an AW 139 charger from Fenix-Store. Don't know how that setup performs but will find out.

Anyone here with that same setup willing to share your experiences?

Thanks.

will the added voltage increase the light output or only affect runtime?

These http://www.lighthound.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2190 are my favorite RCR123s. I have 8 or 10 of them now and never had any of poor quality. They have pretty good run-time too. At the higher voltage you might lose the low and medium modes on the fenix lights. The AW brand is also very good but have slightly less capacity. If you want to have all of your output levels you'll have to go with 3.0 volt li-ions like these. http://batteryjunction.com/rc390reliba.html

Whatever brand RCR123 you decide on, I recommend getting ones with protection circuitry, like the ones I posted links to.

Good luck

AW is great to deal with. Great communications. I ordered some late one night and received a shipping comfirmation the next day.

I'd go with AW's cell. Didn't someone just have a battery station cell blow up on them?

My father had a BS RCR123 900 battery blow up on him in his overnight bag sometime during his drive and overnight stay at a hotel. He had two with him and the one that died had apparently gotten very hot, the shrink wrap had contracted quite a bit and the protection slice popped off.

I have both the AW ones and the 3.0v Tenergy ones from Battery Junction. Both work equally aswell and I can confirm you dont loose any of the output levels using the AW's.
