Can one make the assumption that with Surefires LED module from a G2L or 6PL put in the 6PD would be the same runtime? or is the circuit different? I like the 6PD as a host.

G2® LED
Max Output: 80 lumens
Runtime: 12 hours

6P® LED
Max Output: 80 lumens
Runtime: 11 hours

Must be some difference, the Nitrolon body over Aluminum?

The Nitrolon body heats up causing the LED to back down to prevent heat damage. Thus the light runs a little longer on the G2 because it is not drawing as much power.

You should get the same runtime as lumens as a 6P..

Surefire P60L (6PL and G2L) runtimes
SureFire%20P60L.png

I bought a real cheap used G2 (Thanks JasonC8301!) to put the P60L module from the 6PL in so all runtimes would be done with the same sample.

Thermal regulation drops the output significantly in the Nitrolon body of the G2, and when I picked the light up a few minutes after the RCR123 runtime had finished the bezel was quite hot. The module itself must have been at a very high temperature. Makes me wonder just how long the LED will survive.
Thanks, Carpenter

I also found this and it seems to bear that out.
