Where can I get copper discs?

Any hardware store should have copper water/gas tube end-caps.

You have to saw/dremel the discs out of them.

BTW: the complete copper cap works great as heatsink;)

For best performance the cap should fit pressed contact to the flashlight body/tube/head by using thermal-paste.

For the 14mm one, maybe you can use a pre-1973 or so penny. After that they started making pennies out of zinc. Actually maybe you can use a dime today (nickel plated copper). Consider it "inflation".

Thanks for all the response; I'll try to find the copper end cap and the penny / dime; I have a few US coins stashed somewhere leftover from visiting Disney World Florida. I also have some leftover copper plates coming; I will try to cut them. I just have to remember to wear safety / swimming goggles as I still remember a shard of copper flew to my eyes when I was very little; I don't remember why I cut coppers back then.
