Can I put a rechargeable in a SF L2 safely?

I know somebody out there can help me.
I have a 3.7 v rechargeable that fits in my SF L2. And I'm pretty sure that the light has a ''boost'' circuit. The light is pretty bright on high, but not as high as with 6 volts (2 primaries).
I'm wondering if the battery is making the electronics work harder than it should?

Thanks in advance !!

A single Li-Ion will work fine in an L2, just make sure you don't use two of them. AW made a run of 14670 cells for the L2, and I have bored one to work with 17670s.

if you put more than 6volts to this light :poof::mecry:
the 17670 will give you less output but the runtimes will increase

How's about a couple of LiFePo4 rechargables? Anybody care to comment?

I once used 3.0 volt RCR123 in a 6 Volt light (the SF G2 with P60) and it blew the bulb because the voltage starts out too high.
Hope this helps.

I wouldn't put 2 - 3 volt RCR123 in the L2 since the initial voltage is around 7 volts. You might damage something.
