If a Q5 L2D is rated as 180 lumens at the emitter, how many lumens will an R4 be rated at? Or is it better in tint or something else?

Triple six rule? Number of the beast? 66 and 6?

0.66x180 lumens + 6 lumens=~124.8 lumens?

The L2D-CE on turbo puts out about 122 lumen, and the Cree Q5 creates about 25-30% more lumens then the P4, so about 150 something lumen out the front.

I'm guessing also around the 150lumen range, there isn't much of a difference between the Q5 and Rebel 100.

Any idea how a P2D-Q5 head will perform on a L1D (AA) body?

Will it outperform a L1D-CE head with a P4. (I'm thinking of buying a p2D Q% and want to use it on an existing spare body as well.)

I've read somewhere that the Q5 may require too much current. Is that right?

I'm sure it will work fine. The circuit is the same. I'm sure
there is will be an increase in output.

At this point, I'd like to comment why there are no premium Fenix lights
(Q5 and RB100) for single 1.5v celled lights. The reason is because
the increase in output would not be as great as with a two celled 1.5v or
single 3v celled light.

Actually the different is so small that it's not worth sticking a premium LED
in it. The non-premium cree and rebels perform wonderfully as it is. But it
just doesn't make that much of a difference compared to the 3v lights that
put more current through the LED. I hope this helps :p

If you absolutely need a premium 1.5v light, you can always get a P2D or L2D
premium and then buy a L1D body :)

Thanks for the fast service! You will get my order!

I have a L2D CE with a spare L1D body as well as a P2D. I was going to give my P2D away and buy a P2D-Q5 ... wanted to make sure I could also swap with the spare L1D body.

I've seen people say the vf on the Q5 is too high...whatever that means.

That means the battery and boost circuit will have to work harder. However, the Vf varies from LED to LED even within the same bin code
and same batch. So take all reports with a grain of salt :)

Yes, I've been known to say that that Q5 is working almost too hard, but also said that that may only be my light (have to use a really fresh cell... good brand). However, as 4sevens said, it's impossible for the led's to be EXACTLY the same, even within the same lot. I was just reporting what MY light did.
