FS A123 $18, some bulbs, NTCs, windows, chargers.

Left this here for diy interests. Everything here has long been sold.

I consider all these batteries used. Guaranteed not D.O.A.

Have taken apart Milwaukee battery packs, discharged at 0.2A and charged to capacity.
All within 10% capacity.

Emoli made in Canada. out of stock

IMR26700A Lithium Ion Batteries

Unlike Lithium Polymer batteries, these cells are very rugged. It is encased in a steel can similar to NiCAD/NiMH batteries.

Specs:
Dimension: 26mm diameter x 70mm length
Weight: Approximately 100g
Mfg Claimed Capacity: 2670mah
Nominal Voltage: 3.7 V
Charge Voltage: 4.2 V
Mfg's Max Continuous Discharge Rate: 20A
Max Tested Continuous Discharge Rate* 45A (15C)
* Not endorsed by Manufacturer.

Direct drive solutions include:

2C with 2x emoli with short switch and 2x AW cell extender run Philips 5761 with NTC, wa1111. 3C,2D with 2xemoli same bulbs above. C size mags will require more honing, larger ID than A123 cells.

3D, 4C with 3xemoli and NTC run Osram 64430, tungsram 56580. without NTC and 3xemoli run 64625, 62138, 64610. 64623 will run very yellow.

5D, 6C with 4xemoli run Osrams 64623, 64458, 50w IRC bulb or bulbs haven't used IRCs myself.

6D with extention, 5xemoli using a PWM run Osram 64458. without PWM 5 or 6 x emoli 64655 maybe with 6, 6 for sure with 64657.

Can charge with older Li-Io or Li-Po chargers.

By eliminating cobalt from the IMR26700 cell it is possible to produce a much larger cell, while providing exceptional safety characteristics. Further developments of the IMR26700 cell will provide fast charge capability, allowing cells to be fully charged in as little as 15 minutes.

Cell Type IMR26700 Manganese
Size 26.4mm diameter; 70mm length
Weight 100g
Capacity 3Ah
Standard Operating Voltage 4.2V - 2.5V
Energy Density 285Wh/l
Power Density 1500W/kg at 20 seconds

Re: FS Emoli and A123 Batteries (((((((SALE)))))) Emoli $13, A123 $11

Jim, I'm potentially interested. I've been harvesting cells from packs... if I might ask, where do your cells come from and how new are they? Also, do you leave the cardboard jacket or shrinkwrap the cells? PM me if you'd rather not discuss here in the open, but please get back to me one way or the other as I'm interested!

Re: FS Emoli and A123 Batteries (((((((SALE)))))) Emoli $13, A123 $11

Sorry if first post not clear, A123 and Emolis come from new Dewalt and Milwaukee paks. Do or did have some from lightly used rc pak. All are discharged 0.2A then charged to check capacity, and within 10% of listed spec. Given reports of 1500 cycles with A123 I still list these as used. All come with cardboard, I've used kapton tape instead of shrinkwrap with C size M@gs. If you would like them wraped or taped let me know.

These A123 cells... are they the same size as 18650s?

18650s are 18mm diameter and 65mm long.

A123 are 26mm x 66.5mm ht. including tabs, cell weight 70g
A123 are longer but probable are about the same wt or less. 2 A123 in a flashlight is so light, I've mistakenly opened tailcap thinking need to put some batteries in it.

do you mean
"A123 are 26mm x 66.5mm ht. including tabs, cell weight 70g
Emoli are longer but probable are about the same wt or less. 2 A123 in a flashlight is so light, I've mistakenly opened tailcap thinking need to put some batteries in it.

If so Emoli are 100g per cell.

Emoli and A123 realy are the heat:
Both are safe, or safer than Li-ion with regards to fire.

I have lots of emoli cells, and they make great long runing powerfull hot wires.
Think of all the lamps you have wanted to run, but have been unable to beacuse of the 2C rule for li-ion.
With a big enough host, eg. maglite or similar you now can.

A123 cells I have no experience with, but I have read up alot, and these seem like the most abuasable cells I have read about. Mega high current drain capacity, run low or even flat and recharge no problems.
think of the same capacity and length as 18650, but 8 mm larger diameter, and infinatley more capable as safely delivering Amps buy the bucket load.

Both these types of cells are THE cells you want for a high capacity hotwires depending on your desired set up, and requirements.

I cant belive that with 1,006 views these haven't all gone already?
You guys dont know what your missing. :p
