So I lost my fenix p2d premium rebel100. I really liked the color temp and lack of ringiness compared to the cree versions. Anyone know when the next gen of the rebel is coming along and what it might hold. I am trying to decide if I replace it now or hold off for the next one.

thanks,
Pete

dunno, but myself, while I don't care about the cree stepping up higher every month, I am patiently waiting for the next rebel bin.

Well, I know that the rebel 100's aren't able to be supplied in production
quantities. There was a huge hold up with Fenix because lumileds couldn't
provide enough to supply the demand. Instead we moved to Cree XRE Q5's
for the premium models because there is plenty to go around.
The Q5's outperform the rebel 100's by a slight margin :)

David, Do P3DQ5 op reflector have ringy beam? My P3DREB100 have no ringy and very nice color beam on the softside, and the P3DQ5 have more whiteish blue tin? or maybe somethng wrong with my op P3DQ5 with ringy beam?

David,

Why is the P3D CE Premium Q5 20 lumens brighter than the P3D Q5 mod, different circuitry? Seems to me they should be pretty close together in brightness.

Well I'm happy then that I bought my rebel 100 while they lasted! :)

I have one question though, I am really looking toward more fenix Rebel light, I don't think I would buy Cree fenixes, since I want to work with the best tint quality available, will Fenix continue making Rebel updates/lights in the future, when the supply will be back up?

I'm sure it's the same circuit. The Q5's I purchased and
installed were an early batch from australia. Perhaps they were an earlier batch.
Other than this I'm not sure why.
