P60L in a G3

Hey everyone...

While I love my 6P's, the G3 has grown on me. The Nitolon just feels "right" in the 3-cell configuration. Anyway...I've been contemplating putting a P60L in a G3. At first I assumed it should be no problem. Warnings from Gene about his unit in plastic bodies and SF's temperature regulation have me a little worried, though. Since there is enough heat dissipation difference between P60L's in G2 and 6P's to affect output/runtime (by design), would this effect be magnified at all in a 9v platform? Would it be enough to affect long-term reliability?

What do y'all think?

If the P60L follows the tradition of the KL1 and KL3, its output shouldn't be any different from the two cell set up, and I don't think longer runtimes produce more heat. Has anybody tried this out?

I think the question (I can't answer) is if it follows the KL1/3 Mindset, like Keygrip says. If so, there's no more heat with more runtime..
