Sorry if this has been asked before, the search function didn't shed any "light".

As the title suggests. Has anyone run the above setup?
What impact is there on output? I have a P2D q5 on the way and it would be nice to run NiMH AA's in the P2D.

Does putting an L1D body on it basically turn it into an L1d....the head is the same isn't it?

Yes, putting the P2D-CE Q5's head on a L1D body essentially creates a L1D-CE Q5 because they use the same head, which would have less output then the P2D-CE Q5.

I don't have a CE, but I do have an L2D RB100 and both P2D body and an L1T body. With the RB100 head, I can tell no difference between the 2AA and 1xCR123 power sources. Obviously, with the L1T body, running the head with just 1AA, the light drops down considerably. Turbo mode with 1AA is about what High is with 2AA or 1xCR123.

I would think that if you want to run the P2D-CE with AA's and still have full P2D output, you will need the L2D body and 2 AA batteries.

Below are the specs from fenix-store.com

"The P2D Q5 configuration puts out a maximum of 180 lumens while
the L1D with the Q5 head will put out a maximum of 120 lumens!"
